dang it, i don't have speakers........but i can tell you that that guys a pretty poor example of a christian........i don't think so!!!!!!!!!
that's not the majority though skyline, i think the majority lies within the interior of this country and has nothing to do with controlling.........in fact i really think that you cannot base your assumption on fact.....

I think they are dangerous and unAmerican. You may feel like disagreeing, but please don't deny their existence.
What I'm calling the Religious Right--the churches, religious leaders, Fox News, televangelists, and politicians that want you, me, and everyone else to live by laws crafted from THEIR narrow views/rules--are indeed in control of the White House, the House, the Senate, and very shortly the Supreme Court. I have seen or heard two televangelists who I would exclude from the Religious Right because they preach what they preach, and don't get into politics: Billy Graham and Joel Osteen. There are probably others.
Fox News IS, in my humble opinion, its own branch of the Taliban wing of the Republican Party and is very supportive of the Religious Right. It is run by neo-con Roger Ailes, who is to the right of Rush Limbaugh. Most of their star personalities are right-wingers. Those who are not were hand-picked by Ailes because they are ineffective voices for the middle and left who wind up embarrasing themselves when they go head-to-head with their opposites (Juan Williams, Alan Colmes, Geraldo Rivera come to mind).
The fact that Fox News has to continually bombard the viewers with the claim that they (and presumably, they alone) are "fair and balanced" should at least raise suspicions that they are not. Kinda like Sears' new ad campaign: "Getting cooler every day." When you have to SAY you're cool, you ain't.
So yeah, I think Fox News is part of the Great Right Wing Conspiracy. And since the Right is solidly in control in DC and many other places right now, I stand by my previous inclusion of Fox.
Well, the unpredictable "Edit" button didn't appear this time, so I want to clarify: There is nothing inherently wrong with there being a right-wing all-news channel. Even one whose highest-rated programming is all-opinion.
IMHO there is something VERY wrong with such a channel touting itself as "fair and balanced" when by its design from inception it is not. It is also bad that other media doesn't call them on it more often. Who are they afraid of offending? And WHY are they afraid?
For all we've heard conservatives whine about the so-called left-wing media over the years, there has NEVER been a channel or network that has gone so far out of its way to appease one extreme side of political debate day-in, day-out--as FNC.

The other day, Fox hosted the guy who took the "one nation under God" case to the Supreme Court. I forget the host (not a show I normally watch), but he wouldn't even give the guy a chance to say his piece. Full of "You can't actually believe" and "Why should we let you bully us around..." interruptions whenever the guy tried to answer a question. Certainly less polished than other Fox hosts, but I still wasn't surprised.
I watch Fox more than any other news channel, and generally agree with more of what they say than CNN, for example, but I have to agree with Sky on this one...they're right-wing lackeys.

I click around to CNN-Fox-MSNBC-PBS-Local Channels when I'm looking for news and opinion. If I have a preference for a national news channel, it's probably MSNBC right now. I also watch C-SPAN quite a bit.
More than the others, C-SPAN covers all sides of an issue with a minimum of intrusion and spinning. They are lacking in their ability to provide real coverage of breaking news, however, due to staff and financial restraints.
During the first few days of Katrina coverage, while the Federal preparedness and response was so inadequate, I found nearly all the channels on the ground covering the tragedy with pictures and interviews, showing among other things what was lacking re: FEMA and other governmental inaction. Fox was out there alone, covering it like little or nothing had gone wrong, and emphasizing the military involvement. Yeah, fair and balanced.

I think that reflects the general conservative opinion that the responsibility belongs to the state until the state requests assistance from the federal govt. States' rights, smaller federal govt with the accompanying lower federal taxes, etc.
Haha...Ted Kennedy even brought up Katrina in the John Roberts nomination process. Give me a break.

The people in charge of, and most of the on-air "talent" at the FNC are part of the extreme Right. The extreme Right has their own literal interpretations of the Bible as the basis for many of their political spins, agendas, and actions.

seriously though, and i am not without fault on this, most of the time i keep my mind and heart focused on what is unseen instead of what is seen..............i pray for what is put right in front of my face, but i keep up very little with alot of what is going on and what is being said....always been that way.....
i have my defenses about the group i fit in with just like this hiking community that i am so fond of.....i have been put down for being a hiker and i can usually let that slide, but occasionally someone will say something about my beloved AT and the individuals that are a part of the trail.....and if need be i will let 'em have it with both barrels.....
i believe in the bible and i believe in this community and i stand on faith that this is my lot in life at this point......i have other things that i am a part of and i stand for those too..........like where i work, best group of people i have ever worked for....don't pay as much as i could get cooking, but i do just fine with what i get....my boss Leonard Branum came and visited me while i was in the hospital a couple of weeks ago..never had an employer do that before....they have treated me like i am one of their own and i have only been there two and a half months...i am very grateful for that..............so i stand for what i am about, even with all of its flaws.......

steve, have you ever told a lie and later had to admit to it? if that answer is yes, then know this.....that no matter if we call ourselves athiests or believers, we all fall short of His calling.........my gosh man, when i first came into His ways of seeing things, i was coming from a very arryan point of view............as you probably know from my previuos posts i was in prison after having gone back to face the past..........i remember praying to God that i still didn't care for black people very much and since i figured He was answering my prayers on a regular basis i prayed that he made sure i got into a pretty good mix of colors...that didn't happen...........i was sent to the worst prison where only the whites numbered 15%..........even the blacks hated that place because the way the admin treated everybody.........after i had been there for awhile and going to bible studies with these guys i got called on what was so obvious about me, my hate...............well steve, He took it away...........i have some very good friends today that are still there, about 10 altogether and out of them two are white...............they'll never see daylight..............
