As I have mentioned in my previous few posts, I am just coming back to backpacking. I am looking at trips 7-10 days in duration ultimately working towards a PA to ME trip in '07. I hike solo and am very interested in making the transition to a hammock. I am really looking at two right now and could use a little feedback from the folks who have experience with them. The first is the HH Explorer Ultralight and the second is the Clark Jungle Ultralight. I like certain qualities of each and am counting on your experience. I really want to hear about the negative stuff too. Its too late when you find out about the downsides 3 days in to a 7 day trip. Thanks in advance.

Perhaps you can look at a few of these post and get some of the input you are looking for: http://www.whiteblaze.net/forum/search.php?searchid=518496

I'm a Hennessey Asym Hanger myself. :)

I appreciate the link. I'll spend a little time reviewing and get back with questions. Thanks.

like you I am new to this. I chose the Clark mainly because of my 265lbs.

i'm 5-10, 180#. i use a HH Backpacker Asym. only thing i don't like is that the stock tarp is a little small (mr h fixed that and now offers the option of a larger one).

everything else i don't like is offset by weight savings... if i wanted it even roomier, with an even more convenient tie-up system, power sunroof, and remote locking velcro slit, i'd have to lug more weight.

bottom line is i like it as it is.
