I know this isn't "news" to a lot of folks, but it was a new product for me. Has anyone tried Ready Crisp Pre-Cooked bacon? I picked some up at BJs Wholesale Club yesterday and am intriqued by it. I've read mixed reviews on the stuff, but in the end It looks like a great addition to trail meals.

Also, I grabbed some "Thai Kitchen" Instant Rice Noodle Soup packets. They look like Ramen in their packaging, but the difference is that the noodles are baked and not fried. This results in only 2 grams of fat and ZERO cholestorol. Only 80 calories per package, though.

Thai kitchen tastes hella great. Yeah, they are light on calories, but you can up that by adding some stuff (olive oil, tuna, etc). Check out their more 'full-meal' type offerings.

Darned near survived on that stuff in 2003. Used to eat it like jerkey and add it to my noodles/potato meals. Some is better than others. There are about 3 - 4 different companies making it now. I carried extra freezer strength ziplocks and repackaged it so that it would last longer.

Costco sells Kirkland's (proprietary brand?) bacon which I believe is Hormel Black Label. It's GREAT and relatively inexpensive. I think it's something like 60 slices (big, thick slices) for around $10.00. The stuff in our local grocery stores by Oscar Mayer is thin and costs way more per slice in comparison.
