I was wondering if anybody has this tent. I am new to posting but have been lurking for over a year. I have the Europa 05 but am always in search of the perfect tent. I like this one because it is freestanding, would be warmer in the Winter, and of course is very light. I am 6 foot 3 inches tall so I am a little worried about an 84 inch floor. Let me know. Thanks a lot!
There are two reviews of the Evolution model of that tent going on right now at backpackgeartest.org. They've completed their initial and field reports and both reviewers are pretty impressed with it. My wife and I have had our eye on that tent for a while. The specs on it look really good and we want to go back to a free standing, but still relatively light weight, shelter.

The company does not stock the tents but "batch" orders the fabrication of the tents from "Asia" I ordered mine and settled for an October delivery. That delivery date went by with delivery now scheduled for some time in November. They apparently order fabrication once they have orders in hand. I have had some conversations with the owner and I am impressed with the features and particular the weight. I think this series of tents is the lightest of offerings out there. They offer aluminum poles or carbon poles which shave the weight. The fabric is also light. Some really good features like a window. You can also combine the fly and the ground sheet for a free standing tarp arrangement. They are a little guarded about which "Asian" country they use. Does anyone pass of gear made in "Viet Nam." for instance?
Big Sky posts the next delivery date so it is well not to wait til the last minute.
We are getting early snow this year. I hiked into a drainage last week (Bass Creek Lake- south of Missoula, MT) and got into 1 foot snow at 6,000 feet. Light and fluffy and I had gaiters so no problem. Once the tent comes, my first outing will probably be in snow... UGH... I had hoped that I would have not snow for the first outing. I ordered the 1P Evolution and expect to do an owners review. Will post with more news and my experience with delivery.
Big Sky just came out with a new rain parka. Seems to have great features. It is on the web site.

Thanks for the info but I am not finding anything on the Revolution, which is the single wall version which I prefer. I wonder if it performs similarly to the Black Diamond Firstlight?
Just thought I'd bump this thread and see if anyone has had a chance to get some nights in one of the revolution tents. I see a review from Backpacking light on their site and will probably cough up the money for a subscription as I've heard a lot of good things about the site, but thought I'd also check in here and see if anyone has any comments.

So far the tents and other items are "vapor gear."Apparently the company is having serious manufacturing/delivery problems. I still don't have mine having ordered it back in September. The company(Bob) does not do a good job of staying in touch. I have seen promised delivery dates come and go. My trip is in July but I am starting to think about alternatives.
My advice is to pass until they start shipping on regular basis. My take is that they just came into the market too soon. Bob will be in my city in April so I hope to get more of the story.

Thanks for the update. Based on that I'll look in another direction for now. Sounds like an interesting product, but if they haven't taken care of September orders yet, I don't think I want to get in line.

Did you get your tent yet? If yes, how do you like it?

Received my solo tent two weeks ago. It is great. I talked with Bob and they are now shipping. They have some new designs in the works and I am going to get an advanced model in May. This new solo tent will be even lighter and will work for my summer trip on the JMT. I was able to see the prototype and got to crawl inside it. This new tent will shake things up. It is just a sleeping compartment with no vestibule. Large pockets on the side for stowing. Less than 2lbs and free standing.
Keep an eye on Big Sky. They are coming out with some amazing products.
I got to see some totally new fabric that is about to turn everything up side down. It will make fully waterproof single wall tents possible. I am not sure of spelling but it is snorkle with a z which I guess is zorkle or znorkle.
I would go with Big Sky now they are shipping.
Best Regards,
Clark Fork.
