I'll going to make one soon. Should cost under $100. I'll post pics when I am done.

i've got a nunatak ghost in eiderdown but it was more than 200, it has an ounce of overfill and easily goes to 28F (proven in my backyard) and weighs right at 1 pound.
I'm sure jacks r better can fill your desires for close to the money you are talking about in down,
for synthetics there is the new kid on the block so to speak, kick ass quilts, dont have one of theirs but my youngest daughter is destined to get one because she is reckless with gear.
Have a link to that Kick Ass Quilt?

but consider down if you can treat your equipment with evenjust a little respect, so much warmer.
The quilt I mentioned by Nunatak is a 'top' quilt, if you are looking for down quilts to use above or below a hammock you are remiss if you dont turn to the Jacks.

Isn't Ray Jardine still selling his ray-way quilt kit? I love mine. Ahhhhh!

Thru-hiker.com also has the Hungry Howie down quilt kit for sale. Depending on the fabric and fill options you choose, it will be about $100-200 dollars.

I made my quilt, with a foot box, and 13 ozs of down, from a thru-hiker quilt kit based on Howie's design. It was about $1750, with the biggest part of the cost being the 15 ozs of down. Was one of my first sewing projects, and took more time than I like to think about, tho! Would do it again - have used this comfortably in my HH in temps down into the low teens, with wind....

Hope there is an extra "0" in there. I ordered from different web sites. It should cost me around $300 or so to make a top, underquilt, and larger tarp. With enough extra materials to make an extra tarp, stuff sacks, an cold weather quilt.
I do have a half finished Ray Way quilt at home waiting to be finished... sadly I won't be able to finish it until this summer

Fanatic Fringe makes a few synthetic models: http://www.fanaticfringe.com/page6.html. There is a 1.65 lb 30deg one at $189.
Yeah I just saw those...
Can anyone comment on the quality of the Fanatics?

Sorry, just now saw this thread. I do only have underquilts for sale now. I had originally considered offering a top quilt, but don't think I have anything new to add. I'll stay out of it until I think of some whiz-bang innovation.
I'm currently using a Ray-Way kit, which I love. Very good instructions, very reasonably priced, and an excellent project. Nothing is better than using equipment you made yourself. My only real criticism is that the colors offered are a little vibrant. I got green and it is GREEN. I like more subdued colors outdoors.
I think the JRB head-hole is a fantastic design and will be putting one on my next top quilt once I find time to make one.
