cheesewhiz here in Bland on the 15th off to pearisburg by Friday then to TRAIL DAYS with my girlfriend.
Hello Philly Hikers.....I had an idea. For thoses of use who are going to be stuck in the Philly region for the month of June....let's plan something! A hike...trail magic....something like that! It would be fun to see everyone again! To thoses on the trail ....wiz, spilly, tim, weeks.....best of luck and I'll see you at Duncannon!
Good to see ya at Trail Days. Firebug ( my son ) and I had a great time. We are canoeing the Shenandoah River the weekend of the 16th but maybe the weekend after that we can do something. Maybe a cookout at Port Clinton or at Pine Grove Furnace and feed some hikers. Or just a hike. Or Fondue (lol) Say Hi to your Mom for me.
Let's see if we can gather the ranks for some kinda trail magic the weekend of the 24th of the 1st....... We'll do on the "say hi to ma" (ps...she is teama on here .....but never signs in) It was great seeing you, and look forward to my next real lager! Cya!
Your southeastern most member (I think) is about to have the hike of his life time (so far)!
I will be driving up to Madison NJ to spend the night and pick up my hiking partner then Monday night I'll be hammocking at the foot of Webster Cliffs. Turesday night will be at Mizpah Hut and so on untill Friday night when I'll finish the Presidential Range in NH. I think I'm ready and I'm praying for good weather! Anyone who checks out Mt. Washington's CAM I'll try to be standing in front of the Deck" at 9am or 9:15 or 9:30 Thursday mourning 7/27 - don't know how long it will take me or Cindy to get to the top but I'll stand there on the quarter hours. If you happen to see a guy with a blue Precip parka... double click to enlarge it, right click and save as - I'll pay for the picture!!
I hope you all have had a great summer so far.
This is what I've been waiting for (also walking tons of steps, 10 mile bike rides, short jogs, and soft sand beach walking (the worst!),
Peace,
Rob -- from slower lower Delaware
Oh, with 3 liters of water my pack weight is 22 lbs. - just day energy food, a 40* bag for emergencies, and layers of clothes.
Whooohooo! Have a good time!:banana
The weather was great
The mountains were breathtaking
But the people... beat them all. Met and hiked with some supper folks.
I'll post my summit shot, under RobK, sometime soon.
Oh, I got there a little late - 10:00 on the button, I had a red long sleeve shirt on...
Thanks for the well wishes - they worked!
Peace, Rob :banana
We're gonna have to start planing the PHilly HIkers welcome home party soon! We have a few still truckin'!!!!
First, Larry, didn't get your Email until I returned - sorry, would have loved to join you all.
Second, there are rock in them there hills - nothin but rocks....

Hi guys, I'm new to this board. But I'm planning a hiking sometimes between now and the 26th before school starts. i'm not an experienced hiker, and I originally planned to go with some friends who only hiked may be once or twice. But I gave up the idea thinking it'll be better if i myself become more experience before taking other ppls. So, I'm just trying to see if anyone is planning a hike between now and sept, and if i can tag along..... and yep i live in philly. :-)
