So I'm starting to think about making my own gear and modifying some of the gear I have. Right now, I am specifically looking for a waterproof (or resistant) zipper to replace the velcro on my Europa tent, but that is just my starting point. I think I can design and build stuff I want cheaper (or at least comprably priced) to new gear.
Those of you who are DIYers - what suppliers do you use?

Thanks for the start... I did a search on the site for "supplier" and did not turn up a thread about suppliers in general, just a few specifics... Maybe there is a better search term? Thanks again!

I'll post the links later ( I have them on my home PC). I ordered ripstop nylon from PCT Fabrics for $3 a yard.
I also came across a site with 2.2 lbs of 750 fill down for $150. I know other sites have 800 or even 900 fill down. But when I worked the cost to weight saving, it did not seem worth it to spend about twice as much to save 5+ oz.
