Make a 35mm B&W camera out of a matchbox:

Amusing...not sure how practical this would be. FYI.

too funny, I made one of these using 110 film in 1981 for a sixth grade science project!

You can get some really cool shots with pinhole cameras. The trick would be to know how long your exposures would need to be under various light conditions since your shutter is the sliding piece that you operate. That would just take some experimenting. It looks like the guy has really thought out this camera. I really like his idea of having a take up reel.

An advantage of a pinhole camera is that everything is in equally in focus, Picture sharpness as I understand it is a function of the precision of the pinhole, though no one should accept this as gospel. It's been many years since I toyed with the idea of pinhole photography.

I've always thought a simpler way to experiment would be to replace the lens of any simple cameral with a pinhole. That way you would have a film advance mechanism and possibly a workable shutter with a needed "bulb" setting.

That might produce a too narrow a view for most photos, a sort of pin hole telephoto camera. I figured it out once. But long, long ago.

pinhole cameras have infinite depth of field ie things are equally sharp regardless of distance to object. they are only in focus everywhere if the film plane is curved so that all parts are equidistant from pinhole.
