Went to Amicalola this morning and found two other vehicles in the parking lot at the top of the falls. The area was completely snow covered and beautiful. Chatted with a couple that just came back from the Hike Inn and they said they were the only customers at the Inn last night. He said they measure the snow on a good flat area and it was a little over 4 inches deep. Talked with another hiker that had originally planned to got to Neels Gap, but said he was not prepared for the 19 degree temperature with the equipment he had and was heading home. He seemed pretty disgusted. I mentioned to him he will do better next time. I went out the Approach Trail and from where the Hike Inn Trail cuts off to the left I was the first person on the snow. I went in to High Shoals road at it's second crossing of the Approach Trail and back. It was beautiful. I saw many deer tracks going across the trail and rabbit also. I walked over fox tracks for almost a mile. This place is so beautiful and full of wonderful history including the church with the Civil War solder in it and Cochran Falls. Had a great time.

Sounds a nice time. There's nothing like hiking in the snow.
