Hello,
I want to test out my current sleep system, but Minnesota weather doesn't seem to be at all similar to what happens on the AT. I just want to know the approximate coldest temperature you can get caught in if you start the AT the first week of March. You can just post a number range, other wise I'll assume -5. Thanks!

Probably the coldest weather will be in the higher elevations of NC/TN where you're liable to get some snow but still you probably won't face any colder weather than teens. The thrus that began this week (week of Feb. 26) have received an extra special treat from the weather in GA. All week the weather has ranged from lows in the 30's and 40's to highs in the 60's to mid 70's with lots of sunshine.....absolutely perfect hiking weather. The ones that started on Sunday the 26th should be just about finished with GA by now. No rain is predicted for the next couple of days although the lows may dip into the mid 20's ....but with highs still in the 60's and 70's. Hope it keeps up.
