The detailed planning has just started and already a two problems:
1) For 2" of loft, 800 down, what sort of bag temperature rateing would this correspond to?
2) I was going to use box construction, but sew-through is sooooo much easier. Any guesses on how much insulation capacity I'll loose with sew-through?
Thanks

As to 1)....I may remember this incorrectly but I think Ray Jardine claimed that 2" of loft is close to 20 degrees F......regardless of the material used(synthetic or down)

My 2" baffled down quilt (JRB) is probably good to about 30F. I have no idea how much you'll lose by doing sew-through, but baffling isn't that difficult if you mark everything beforehand - IMO, it's worth it if you want more than a summer quilt.
Don't forget that as the quilt lofts, you'll lose length. For example, if one of your sew-through sections measures 6" flat, once you stuff it the length may drop to 4-5". Be sure to account for this before you start cutting.
