View Full Version : GSMNP shuttle service?
Any suggestions on a good (fairly) inexpensive hiker shuttle in the Smokies? We want to end the hike at Newfound Gap and start at Cosby. We also want to get and early start (this will be a 25+ mile day hike for us), are the shuttle people accommodating to a predawn drive?
thanks!

If you go the opposite way, like I did in late April of 1998, I would recommend John Thigpen of Mountain Moma's. I parked my car at his business and he drove me to Clingmans Dome. The hike is a little easier this way as well. The hike was memorable for having a late winter storm. Be prepared for extremes in the weather if you are going this month. The phone number I believe for MM is 828-486-5995.

There are three good ones, I've used each one and highly recommend them all:
A Hike In the Woods near Gatlinburg- link above
Hike Inn near Fontana Damn
Standing Bear Farm near Davenport Gap
Pick the one closest to where you want to be picked up, prices are the same based on distance driven.
Thanks for the info, im going to call these guys and get something set up....thanks again!
