How avalible is white gas along a thru-hike? Can you find it in almost every town along the trail, and what size containers can you buy?

Its plentiful. Yes, in almost every trail town & hostel. No worries. If you are hiking alone, an 11 oz bottle is plenty. You can buy it by the ounce in most places.
