My thanks to Lone Wolf for mentioning Dot's as often as he has. I was at Trail Days and stopped in a couple of times. I found the hamburgers to be as good if not better than I've had in a long time. They're fresh and not frozen patties. The beer was cold. The staff very friendly. And best of all, the place has all the ambience of all the great joints I've ever frequented.

You're very welcome. I've been going to Dot's for 20 years. Great place. Come visit in the winter when no hikers are around.

I had a burger and a few beers at Dot's while I was at Trail Days. It was excellent. Great service, great food, great price! (unlike the vendor that was selling burritos in the park; I was not a happy camper at 3am in the middle of that thunderstorm running for the porta-john)

Very true. year round experience is surely different than big weekend of the year experience. Anyone who thinks otherwise is dreaming.

But experience and common sense tells me that many vendors rely on experience and guesses for a judgment about future experience. All of which convinces me that probably things will go along like this for a while -- and then get worse.
