How do you store a beer can pot with out damaging it while hiking?

Excellent question, jazilla. I just put mine in the top pouch that isn't compressed, but it still got dented up. I just bent it back into shape, but it would still be nice to keep it from being smashed.

I store mine in the center of my food bag - it still sometimes gets bent a bit but no big deal to round it back out using fingers

Put a fuel bottle inside of it to help if from getting bent to far in. I have one of those I played with, it makes a nice little solo pot.

btw the bending possibility is one reason I use a Heineken "keg" can instead of the straight sided Fosters or similar cans - the ridges around the keg can help keep it from getting too bent up and also make it easier to pick up with a bandana

I have a couple of Bud Aluminum Bottles I am using for stoves. They are thicker than regular can. They are only 16oz bottles. Do you think if we all contacted Budweiser they would make a duce duce in an aluminum bottle so we can have a pot. I was looking at the bottle and I don't think I would do anything to it. If I leave the top on it makes a perfect pouring spout. Just a thought.

If you cut the top off of the keg just at the first ridge it will fit down snuggly over the fosters can. This gives you a pot with top and then a cup. I recommend a Brasslite stove that emits heat from the center of the stove. All my kitchen stuff fits inside both cans nested together, then I put my cozies on and everything is safe. Cedar Tree

I've got a popcan pot- it holds just over a cup and a half of water, so should be great for freezer bag cooking for one.

sorry- that first post was posted prematurely.

What I meant to continue was that the cozy idea is a great one- as well as putting something inside the pot to protect it.

(oh yeah- have a energy drink can stove so they fit together nicely.)
