I just want to post here about two young men who were hikers from Indiana, when one became injured around Antlers campsite/Cooper Brook deadwater. Lucky for them another hiker whom I did not get the name, gave them my phone # and they managed to get in touch with me via their cell phone. I drove up and met them at Cooper Brook road crossing 6/11 pm. Cell coverage, unless your on elevation is null and void in most circumstances in this area. They reported a lot of water on all of the trail and stream crossings running full bank. We've had a week of steady rain here and the water crossing are not to be taken lightly. I brought them to my home, fed them, housed them overnight, got them to Bangor to a bus and they are now on their way home. If anyone recognizes or reads this knows who the helpful hiker was to these two boys, please foreward my big thanks! I believe he was headed NOBO. :(
