My husband and I are looking for a shuttle from Dick's Creek Gap to Amicalola around June 27th/28th. Doing our first section hike and hoping to knock out Georgia that week. Also, anyone know the going rate on shuttles in that area?

Can't help with the going rates, but here are some shuttlers for that area. Have fun!

Re-emphasizing Pete's post. Call Josh at The Hiker Hostel in Dahlonega. www.hikerhostel.com (http://www.hikerhostel.com) Probably about $1 a mile.

If you start at Standing Indian Campground, you can knock out all of Georgia plus a little of NC.

Most of these folks shuttle on a part time basis and have another primary job. I have been using shuttles (as a solo section hiker) since 2000 and have always booked at least a couple of weeks ahead. You may have to call more then one to find someone to match up to your plans and have a willingness to be flexible.
