Hi there,

I know this isn't AT related (well it is, but ever so slightly) but I've just finished editing and uploading a ten part series of Podcasts recorded during May when 300 people took part in a cross Scotland walk of some 200 miles.

The purpose of the event is to promote fellowship among hikers and there were several backpackers from all around the world, including a handful from the US.

I just thought it might be of interest to everyone on this forum, (a) for lightweight hints and tips, (b) should anyone feel like entering the event for the 2007 trip and (c) for some entertainment and curiosity value on this side of the pond.

They can be found at www.backpackinglight.co.uk/page17.asp

All feedback is welcome as I'm hoping to do more of these kind of programs for the outdoor world.

All the best one and all.

Regards

Bob Cartwright

Thanks for the link, Bob. I'm hoping that the podcasts will be useful in convincing my wife to spend more time on Scottish trails when we finally get in our anniversary trip. What time of the year do you recommend, recognizing that one has to be prepared for the wet/cold pretty much anytime?
