I was wondering if anyone has hiked the Knobstone trail in Southern Indiana?
If so how is it? Is there plenty of water sources? The DNR website doesn't go into a lot of detail so I thought maybe someone could shed some light for me. Also would it be a decent hike for my dog?

I've hiked the southern most 8 miles of it, water appeared to be a hit or miss thing, I really enjoyed the hike, I've downloaded VERY specific maps and guides using google to search for them.

It's a fairly rugged trail, steep, but short climbs and water is scarce in the summer and fall, but easily obtainable in winter and spring. At 45 miles long makes for a nice 3 day hike. I've encountered dog's on the trail frequently.

If you plan to hike the entire trail in summer you can cache water at various trailheads.
