Hey all,

I actually don't know yet if I will even need this, but I'm hopefully going to be taking a bus out to Greenwood Lake, NY (I think that's the one that the bus goes to) next Wednesday night (the 26th) to meet up with a friend of mine who's doing a thru right now and hike with him for a couple days, and was wondering if anyone out there would be willing to pick me up at the bus and ferry me up the the trail?

I'm hoping there's someone local out there who's available and not far away, but if not, I'll just rely on my trusty feet and right thumb, to try to get myself a hitch up there. But a ride would be much nicer, since I have no idea which direction to go from the bus. I will of course pay for gas (ack), and I'll give you a Snickers bar too (oooboy!).

Like I said, not even sure if I'll need the ride yet, but thought I'd put my feelers out there. Thanks!

Take the bus that goes all the way to Warwick. It crosses the trail on 17A. NJ Transit is the busline. Good luck!

Thanks! It would be 7 or 8pm... I'm still trying to figure out the schedule. I should know more by this weekend at the latest. Thanks again!

7/26 is the next evening of my series of trail angel hikes to Wildcat Shelter. I leave 5 PM and hike north from 17A to the shelter with my pug and then return from 7-8 PM. It sounds like when I am coming out, you will be coming in. So our paths should cross. By the way, before you start out, tell the bus driver you want out at the Bellvale Creamery. Their ice cream is sensational (ask any thru-hiker). It is 0.1 mile west on 17A from the AT crossing of that road. What a way to start a mini-trip.

I could help too - 7 or 8pm. I live 1.2 miles off of the Long House Road crossing (Upper Greenwood Lake)

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who responded, and especially a huge thanks to RITBlake, who was more than understanding with my crazy and ever changing schedule, and didn't seem to mind when I called him at the last minute and canceled.

Anyway, Thanks!!!:sun
