Anyone know which is lighter in a long-sleeve medium weight zip tee;capilene, smartwool, doufold,or merino wool?

I have no clue but www.campmor.com (http://www.campmor.com) has a good practice of putting the average weight of an article of clothing on it's listing. Try looking there at three similar type articles to see if they have an answer for you.

I know that capilene is lighter than the duofold...

capilene silkweight LS (6oz), zip-t and duofold about the same (about 6.5 to 7oz), smartwool Microweight LS (7oz). I'd go with the smartwool, the smell factor and warmth is better than capi.

I have the capilene and SmartWool shirts. It is true that the odor problem and warmth issues are better with SmartWool but I found that it never dries for me.
I have sweat like a weight lifter even in the winter and hypothermia is an issue with the wool for me. Although wool is supposed to keep you warm even when wet I found my clothing weighed a ton more with the sweat and I always felt damp and clammy. Not so with the capilene which seemed to dry quicker.
Just a consideration for you if you tend to over heat.
