Wasn't Icewater shelter designated thru-hikers only at one time? Has it been revised?

smokymtnsteve, enjoyed very much your trail report....when we went up to LeConte via Alum Cave we wished we had crampons on but didnt, survived anyway....and to think the thru-hikers only get to see that wee little 75+ miles of GSMNP
