Is there bus service to VA 60, Buena Vista/Lexington, VA any longer? There was a few years ago (from Greyhound) when I got off the trail there.
I'm continuing my southbound section hike, starting Monday 9/25, and I'm at a loss for how to reach the AT. I can bring my car to Harpers Ferry and leave it with friends who can bring me to either Martinsburg, WV or to Winchester, VA. But with no bus service I don't think this helps me.
One possiblility is Marc from HF to DC, then take Amtrak from Washington, DC to Staunton, VA (outside Waynesboro) but I'm still 50 + Miles North of my destination. This seems like the long way around, taking about 6 hours to get 100 miles closer to my destination.
Any ideas from the group on how to travel the I-81 corridor? Thanks a lot.
Oh, I'll be hiking towards the Gathering and hope to see many of you there!
