has anyone used the Eureka Zeus EXO? Im interested in this tent because its free standing, 2 person (im tall and want the extra space) and weighs in at 4 lbs. Its got a single wall design, no view of the stars, but my eyes will probably be closed for the most part, right? Plus this tent is affordable! Thanks:cool:
anyone? Bueler? Bewler? Beaughler? Beawler? Bealarh? Beelerh?
I met several people on the trail with this tent....pretty mixed reviews....liked it at first and then being sent home very shortly for something lighter....replacing with tarp, hammock or other.

There were a ton of em at Trail Days this year, probably enough to qualify as a second runner up to the Clip...bunch of exclamation points everywhere, lol.
I use a Clip, and I've considered the Zeus for a few oz. savings over the clip AND mainly because it's freestanding. Not a ton of reviews out there, but a couple at http://backpackergeartest.org/. The biggest complaint I've seen is bad condensation.

My wife and I used the Zeus last November during our section hike from Erwin to Damascus. The positives are obvious, a free standing , lightweight tent that can go up in hurry. The negative was condensation. Part of that we attributed to being too warm. The first night we set it up we wore midweight capilene in a zero degree bag. Big mistake. We'll probably use it again this fall when we resume our hike through Virginia and hope to learn to take advantage of some if the tips included in the Backpacker gear reviews.
