I'm section hiking and am going to hike from 19E to Damascus next month. I'd prefer to leave my car at the starting point and get a shuttle back from Damascus. Who might provide this service and how do you contact them?

In the alternative, I could arrange with a shuttle driver in the 19E / Roan Mountain area to follow me to Damascus (so I could pay him first), and he'd then shuttle to back to the 19E trailhead after I've parked my car. Who in the 19E area might do this and how to contact?

Also, whar can I park my car in Damascus or the 19E area?

Give Damascus Dave and Jeff a holler at Mt. Rogers Outfitters. They handle shuttles all the time. They also have a hostel, so you could just get sucked into Damascus for a week and save yourself all that walking!

kinda dangerous to park your car on @19e, but there is the mountainharbour, a b&b w/ a nice hiker hostel, its safe and .3mile west of the trail. I think just like mt rogers, they charge to park your car there. http://www.mountainharbour.net/

You could also leave your car at Kincora hostel, which is 25 miles north of 19-E. That would let you leave a 'mail' drop with your car, and Bob Peoples can shuttle you to 19E, and pick you up in Damascus. You don't want to miss Kincora, anyway, IMHO.

Do not, repeat: do not leave your car on 19E !!!!
All the above ideas are excellent ;)

i guess by kinda i mean alot

on 19e me and lil'red were honked at, then honked at and flicked off, and after slackpacking walking back to mountain harbour a car did 2 u turns and were slowing down as they came up to us, but that was right when we turned into the mountain harbour drive way.
mary and terry are sooo sweet, mary makes a great breakfast, but its too heavy for a hike. when the hiker cabin over the horse barn (yes the horses use it still) fills up, they open their rv up, i think they will also allow camping when they are really full. They mentioned plans of building a bunk house as well, once they figure out how to get running water where they want to put it. they really do love hikers.

DONT park it at 19E...history of trouble. Park it at Damascus.

You can park at my house in Damascus for free and I can shuttle you to 19E cheaper than the outfitters. PM me when you have a plan together.
