Has anyone yet gotten their hands on the new Turbo II stove from Brasslite? How does it perform? Faster or slower than the Duo? Any tips or tricks?

I have made a Turbo I but do not have a duo. I also made what i'm calling a turbo I minus. It is a bit smaller just because of the material I had around. see here (http://www.whiteblaze.net/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=1051&papass=&sort=1)

I used the turbo minus (the middle in photo). This past weekend on AT going to traildays. It brought my meal to a boil in 5 -6 minutes. I used about two caps of alochol. Sorry I don't have more accurate data. I was using a windscreen and one liter pot about 5.5 inches in Diameter.

Turbo I -- 1.5 (without wire mess in photo, i removed it)
Turbo I minus -- 1.2
v8 -- .4
wire stand -- .5 (around turbo I minus, in photo)

hope this helps

I emailed Aaron at brasslite.

the turbo's side vents are 8mm and the top hole is 25 mm.

My Turbo I minus has alterned hole sizes.

Iceman - I ordered a Turbo I last week. I'll report on how I like it after trying it out. Aaron said he's running about 4 weeks delivery time, so it will still be several weeks before I receive mine. I have a Micro, and will compare it with the micro. I like the micro, but it really isn't any better for boil times than the Photon stoves I have made. Think though it will hold up longer, if used for a longer hike like a thru hike.

Well, I've been running some informal tests with the Turbo II and am impressed. I have had mediocre results with alcohol stoves in the past, but the TII impressed me. It weighs a fraction of what the Trangia does and boils water in FAR less time. See my comments in the general gear section.
