No direct experience hiking with it, however, Bruce Warren gave us an after hours( wayyy after-hours ) demo at TD's this year and it seems like a solid product.
At Bruce's urging, my son used it to do an impromptu Jang Bong form. I stood back a ways half expecting the thing to fly apart in all directions but it held up fine.

Have a recent model when it was just a "hiking stick" and before it became a "survival" stick. It would be the smaller diamter of the two models now available. It worked fine for a 4 day backpacking trip in Canada earlier this year. The sections lock up tight, the instant adjustability of the handstrap was awesome and held even when wet. The carbon fiber is quite strong as I weigh over 200 lbs.
