i found a roll of nice gray sil nylon at a local walmart in the dollar bin. i bought 4 yards. if anyone wants some i will be willing to buy more. just pay for shipping and the dollar per yard. i posted this in hammocks and no one responded so i thought i would put it here.

Are you sure its SIL nylon and not just ripstop? If so, you are very fortunate! All Ive ever gotten from my WM is RS... Congrats on the good find!

im pretty darn sure. its slick as could be, holds water, is crinkly, and doesnt thread at the edges. they have ripstop at my walmart too.

i plan to check every walmart i go in from now until they close alltheir fabric depts. i will post if i find more. just mailed out some to a couple of my friends on here to make stuff.

My Mom just scored huge for me! She shops at the same WM that I do, and all Ive ever found is regular RS nylon... Happened to call her on cell phone she says "Im at WM..." I ask her to look at the RS fabrics since the word went out that that dept. was closing and told her to get whatever yardage they had. That was 3 days ago... I just got to her house to pick it up today and she got SIL!!!! This is the first time Ive seen SIL at this particular store (and probably the last!) So... 14 yards later, Im making plans for it! Hmmm ebay's sounding pretty good right now....

Have been to 2 other WM's over the weekend... all gone on sil and rs. A third store's fabric dept is completely gone already.

Thanks Johnny for posting the "differences" in the 2 fabrics. I noticed it immediatly once I had the sil in hand, but til then, had not seen (or touched) it!
