I am making a gearskin clone.

I've about got it done, but it hangs away from my back at the top.

If I understand strapping systems, the top straps should run from as high as possible on the pack to the front of the shoulder straps.

If you are familiar with the gearskin design (Deb W, I hope you're reading this. Your write up was a BIG help to me!!!) Would the top strap be best connected to the front or the back flap.

I'm leaning toward the front flap with the strap running over the top buckles.

Thanks in advance for direction and or discussion.

I got an answer on the Hammock forum. The straps should go as high as possible

Thanks

Affix 'load lifters' to top of straps?
