Here's an idea for Heineken pot users to consider.

Char-Broil makes an aluminum grease cup (http://www.whiteblaze.net/forum/vbg/showimage.php?i=14246&catid=favorites)for gas grills(available at Home Depot and Lowes (http://www.whiteblaze.net/forum/vbg/showimage.php?i=14247&catid=favorites)). It weighs 20 grams, is 1 7/8" high, 3 11/16" diameter at the top, and tapers down to 2 3/4" diameter at the bottom.

It holds exactly 8 fluid oz. of liquid.

Some uses:

- An excellent lid (http://www.whiteblaze.net/forum/vbg/showimage.php?i=14245&catid=favorites) for Heineken pots

- A stand alone 8 oz. cup (http://www.whiteblaze.net/forum/vbg/showimage.php?i=14244&catid=favorites), similar to a Sierra cup

-Turned upright, and filled with water, it can be used as a double boiler/lid (http://www.whiteblaze.net/forum/vbg/showimage.php?i=14243&catid=favorites)for a Heineken pot.

I imagine that some of you bright folks can think of some other uses as well. :)

Skids,

What is the black ring around your Heini pot? Insulation? Does it make the pot more efficient?

It's plumber's cloth (http://www.whiteblaze.net/forum/vbg/showimage.php?i=11900&catid=favorites).

It doesn't make it more effecient per se, just easier to pick up when it's hot. ;)

I use this stuff in my kitchen setup for a heat sheild so my wood burning stove doesnt char a ring below it. Heres the link.

It is expensive however, an 8x10 (approx) sheet costs around $14. But is would make a great integrated holder/cozy. The stuff can take up to 2500 degrees direct heat before breaking down.

Yes, it sticks. I 'paint' it on with 1200 degree high heat Rustoleum paint.

After @ 50 burns the ends will start to come undone. JB Weld the suckers.

Chezrad, I think your link is bad? It leads to the WB homepage.

cool. I will pick up a sheet of it sometime soon, and then try and make it stick.

Heck, I could wrap the entire pot with it...

You probably shouldn't wrap the bottom 1/3 of the pot. I've found that it defeats the purpose. Have fun.

Chezrad's link is OK. The guy that owns the website Chezrad tried to link to has hits from this site redirect to the home page. He's a bit of a control freak.

that threw me for a loop, that sort of childish, jealous, crap makes it really easy to share ideas and information doesnt it?

Or maybe I have the whole idea wrong about forums such as this...

anyway, I was able to find your post by searching on your user name over "there" Chezrad.
