I am palnning on resuming my section hike at Standing Indian Mountain, N.C. in September and continue North. Does anyone have any advice on the best way to get there from Atlanta? Also, I plan on taking-out at Fontana Dam. Is it still best to return to Atlanta to fly out or is there a better alternative (closer) airport? Any advice will be appreciated.

dont know about the flights but i used Barry and Terry to shuttle me to the Standing Indian area (well Deep Gap NC to be precise). There were fair and knowledgeable and likeable too....They are at Rainbow Springs Campground...used them twice, stayed in a cagin once and in the bunkhouse...both nice especially with some hiker trash there!
