View Full Version : Looking for the best.....
I am looking for the best Ramin recipe. So lets hear them. I will start first.
Before you hike put raw ramin in a freezer bag. No spice packet
1/2 half cup of Cinnomon Toast Chrunch ceral
1 cup powdered milk
get condiment packets of syrup from Burger King. dont open syrup
When your are ready to eat boil 1 1/2 cups of water pour into freezer bag and mix in syrup mix and let stand for 3 minutes.
Its great for breakfast or a nice snack.
I dont eat those things hardly at all, but if I have some peanuts handy I will throw them in a chicken or shrimp flavor.
try the shrimp flavor one with stir fry veggies. add a dash of soy or teriaki. quick and easy at home

Beer/cheese soup: Reconstitute ramen with flavor pack (any flavor). Pour off or drink liquid. Add cheese spread, stir in and refill with beer and one dash of hot sauce. Reheat and eat.

cook noodles, drain most water, add appropriate amount of peanut butter and then use the left over flavor packet on next batch to double the flavor, 2 packets gives it a thicker more chinese food taste.

It's not as trail friendly as some, but I like mine with cut up hotdogs, baby carrots, and celery. Any flavor would probably work.
Cook ramen as usual. Drain off water. Add some olive oil, cheese, pepperoni, some type of all purpose seasoing (cavendars, mrs dash, etc.) in conjunction with flavor packet, and a splash of hot sauce.
this is a no cook Ramen meal. I got this off Sarbars freezer bag cooking website. I usually take this on every trip.
Ramen Salad:
1 Pkg. Ramen noodles (discard flavor pkt.)
2 Tbl. dried veggie flakes or Just Veggie freezedried veggies
1 pkt salad dressing of choice (shelf stable, find at fast food places, delis or use 2 tubs of Ranch dip/dressing)
Put Ramen and veggies in a quart freezer bag. In camp add 1 1/2 cups water (room temp), and seal. Let sit for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Drain well. Add dressing and toss well. Great with cubed cheese and or pepperoni slices.
also lots of stuff here on this site http://mattfischer.com/ramen/

Ramen with peanut sauce
ramen
soy sauce
peanut butter
onion flakes
garlic flakes
tobasco sauce or pepper powder
honey or sugar
Leave a couple of tablespoons of water in the noodles when draining, mix everything together.
I always mix my ramen with a small package of tuna and only use half the spice package...

This isn't a 'recipe' per se, it's ramen straight up. I wrote a blog about it a while ago, and I don't feel like pasting it here particularly because it's accompanied with picture illustrations. BON APPETIT!
