I thought that this was a dead issue too, after Taylor got kicked out of office.

The voters of NC (actually all of us) need to keep pressure on the new rep to see that this is killed. I fear one day we will wake up and the dozers are already there.

I wish someone would write that check and be done with this for once and for all.

As said numerous times, this would be a horrible turn of events, and I hope that the enormous cost of the project will be what in the end deters it, as it would greatly disrupt the hiking experience along the BMT and Lake Shore Trails. This is a wilderness area and should remain so, give the people the money to help invest in the infrastructure of the region, this is what they really need, not some road to visit gravesites.

I guess when you have the worst air in America, no new road could make it any worse.

I like the fact that they peg emissions to 'future reductions" in improved vehicles. Ludicrous.

Can't wait to ride my Harley on the new road.

Personally, I prefer the idea that the Road to Nowhere should be traveled by pedal power only... or foot power... gotta remember I'm not on the MTBR forums.
