Was at home last week, stopped into the local MEC (www.mec.ca (http://www.mec.ca)) and noticed a huge inventory of deuter packs, this one being light, large and fit well: http://www.deuterusa.com/products/productDetail.php?packID=aircontactZero60+10&sub=trekking&tert=aircontactZero

I was wondering if anyone has any hands on experience with these brands, good or bad comments, preferably first hand. These bags are German made if I am not mistaken; the sales clerk raved about them. I have not had the time to read reviews on this specific bag and thought this would be a great place to start.

Cheers

i don't know anything about the ACT Zero, but i did post this reply on a deuter thread that popped up a few months ago:

"i used the deuter futura 42 for 750 miles of the AT in 2002. it was about 2500 cubic inches, which isn't very big, but worked fine for late spring/summer hiking. and, the air vent on the back was the envy of every hiker i met. i'd recommend a deuter any day."

i still stand by that statement....

ditto, the prices seem to be pretty good as well, their top bag goes for around 200$

Compared to Osprey, they don't compare.
