I'm intrigued by the idea of tying a duffel to a plain external frame. I took apart my old Camp Trails external frame pack. The frame plus shoulder straps and hip belt weigh almost exactly 3 lbs. If it had been closer to 2 lbs, I would have pursued the idea. As it is, my GG Nimbus Ozone is 3 lbs, ready-to-go, so there's not much incentive for further "engineering".

I found some painter's coveralls with hood for $9, or the jacket and pants for $13 at home depot. Same material as frogg toggs.

Hey soulrebel, i was wondering where in home depot did you find these?
A recent check at mine (after hearing the same) was useless, the guys had no idea what i was talking about..
