View Full Version : Wanted-Titanium Fuel Container
MSR stopped selling their titanium fuel containers and I am lusting after one of the 400 ML ones. Or, perhaps the 800 ML one if that is my only choice. If anyone has one they wish to sell please let me know-email, PM, whatever.
Thanks

Just wondering, do you have some evil purpose for one?  :D You do realize they are slightly heavier than aluminum bottles of the same volume?:)

but it's titanium!
Yeah, I know. The magic marketing material of the decade. Forget the price or suitability for purpose. Even the credit card companies jumped on the bandwagon - Silver, Gold, Platinum, and now Titanium cards - at least there was a progression in rarity/value prior to Ti being introduced into the mix. Plain old plastic just wasn't good enough.
I'm waiting for someone to trademark "Unobtanium". Whaddaya mean it doesn't exist? The golf club and credit card companies will be all over it.

There have been some very peculiar comments about this very simple request...why, I wonder?:-?
Anyway, I have another purpose for it. It is not for fuel.
The best fuel bottle is completely free. It is a very lightweight but extremely tough plastic of some sort that your pharmacist will offer to give you for free-if you know what to ask him for. It is small, amber in color and is even graduated on the side so you can dispense known amounts each time and always know precisely just how much is remaining. So, having that (those), the titanium container I am requesting to purchase is not just for fuel...but it could be, I guess.:D

Not sure if it's the same, but there's an MSR Titanium water bottle up for sale on Ebay. It's got about 9 hours to go and last I checked was in the $30 range.

Slow day, just wondering. I kinda figured that no hiker would actually want a fuel bottle for holding fuel. :-? Way too easy. Thin wall Ti, I'm smellin' a stove in the making.;)

Thanks. I saw it but I am really looking for the shorter, 400 ml one, dont need the height of the larger one.
in the quest for all things Ti.....sometimes we OVERLOOK the obvious, lighter options!:D
good luck with your hike!
Anyone else with an MSR Ti fuel bottle (any size) for sale?
Thx.

I have a 32 oz Ti bottle I haven't used in year's, I switched to a canister stove.
I'd be willing to sell it for $20 plus shipping.
PM me if interested.

I think you got some odd comments cuz you admitted you were "lusting" after a cookpot.
I'm attached to my field kitchen, too, but we've kept it platonic. :D
Hope you find what you're looking for!

PM just sent.
Just bought two new old stock MSR Ti bottles in their original packaging & boxes, a 20oz/600ml + a 27oz/800ml.
I know MSR also made a 13.5oz/400ml Ti bottle, you sure about the "32oz.Ti bottle" Jack Tarlin?
If so, would be great if you'd reply with details/pics of above 32oz. Ti bottle (sent you a PM a fortnight back).
They are lighter than similarly sized aluminum bottles, even the outstanding & discontinued Sigg lined fuel bottles.
Here they are along with the rest of my backcountry kitchen.
