Anyone familar with Cave Spring GA? I'm looking for cheap lodging the night before starting a Pinhoti hike.

I see in a list of motels that there is one in Cave Spring called Creekside Inn Motel. They don't seem to have a website. Anyone familiar with it?

My backup plan would be Rome GA, or maybe Cedartown.

I'm surprised there are any motels in Cave Spring. Its a small, neat antique shopping town. Are you heading north on the GA Pinhoti or south on the AL Pinhoti? Rome would be a much better choice if you are looking for a decent motel. Rome is closer to the southern terminus of the GA Pinhoti, also. If you are going south in AL then the Cave Spring motel would be closer. It may be a nice little mom and pop motel. It is a quaint little town and could be fun.

Thanks. I ended up reserving a room in Rome, at the Comfort Inn. I;ll be leaving my vehicle in Cave Spring and getting a right to the southern terminus of the AL Pinhoti Trail, then hiking back to my car.

Frosty:

There are a number of B&B's in the area. Check this link;

If you call Mike Dillard at Dillard's B&B in Summerville, tell him I sent you his way. I don't know what kind of rate he'll give you, but he is VERY hiker friendly. He is also a Board Member of the Georgia Pinhoti Trail Association, and a really nice guy. Summerville is about a 40 minute ride from Cave Spring - give or take.
