::: Bookmarks Mindi's trail Journal and then does happy dance for her :::
Best wishes for a safe and rewarding journey. Remember to pause at all the special moments to allow the experience to be fully absorbed. You're making memories that you will carry with you the rest of your life. Make them good and sharp memories!;)
Thanks so much everyone...I couldn't be heading out without all the help I've gotten here.

Many on the trail are finding that keeping up a Journal is a chore that is low on the priority list.
I started with Mindi on March 12 when we got dropped off at USFS 42. We summited Springer and headed out after lunch. Stopped at Springer Shelter for water and there we met up with Geek and his crew. Mindi then hiked with Geek and the crew and made Hawk Mtn. Mindi was complaining Tuesday at the top or near to the top of Sassafras while sitting with 'Whoa-ah' (sp?). That was the last I saw of her.
There was a big party planned for Low Gap Saturday (St. Paddy's Day) and most were trying to make time to get there.
I'm home after some issues that need to be talen care of but will most likely be out again and continue on from where I left off at Neels.

Thanks for the update TOG.
I hiked with Mindi - now Sugar Grits - up to Low Gap shelter a few days ago. She was going to zero there with 1-2-Many and Hangman and rest her knee. I heard from another hiker that she was heading out to Blue Mountain Shelter. I'm now in Hiawassee and have just returned from raiding the buffet at Daniels....
Will post more after another nap...

aka Grace here. I'm home also. Recovering from a bowel obstruction that was brewing the day I left Springer. I didn't realize it until Timex and I got to Neels Gap. We got a room in Blairsville, but within hours I was at the ER and was admitted on Thursday night. Discharged on Monday and back home now. No "clear to hike" from the family doc here yet, but I'm looking for that to come soon.
Who Ah, you will be waaaay ahead of me now, but TOG just might be hiking my speed for a while ? Timex is off the trail. He was really discouraged with his knees coming down Blood, but a pep talk from Coosa has him planning to hit the trail again soon.
If ya run into Sugar Grits tell her I said Hey.
aka Grace:banana
she has finally updated her trailjournal if anyone is interested

Mindi?...Where are you?
No injuries..I'm just fine and loving it out here. Hopefully my journal will be updated soon. I'm mailing entries to a transcriber and I just haven't gotten to a post office yet. I'm in Franklin now, worrying about money but otherwise having a kickass time. Happy Easter everyone!

:-? Do I detect a durable sense of humor?:) Sounds like you're doing just fine.
Here's a little:sun to warm you before you head out again, but don't put your hands too close to your monitor. You might get fingerprints on it.
