If you can't find $1/yd stuff in Walmart (it's rare), Ed Speer has it for $4/yd. www.speerhammock.com (http://www.speerhammock.com) under the Products link. And you'll be supporting another hammocker and a great guy.

Another supplier that is even cheaper is Noah Lamport.
www.noahlamport.com
Last time I bought from them, I believe it was $2.50 per yard for 2nds, + a $10 cutting charge.

cedar tree corrent me if I am wrong but i don;t think that that is the same material? It says that it is water resistant but i am looking for silnylon which is completely water proof.
Just Jeff thank you sooo much that guy has the best prices on everything i need!!! (also it is speerhammocks.com)

I think Noah Lamport's drag chute fabric is silnylon. Silnylon is only waterproof to a certain pressure...plenty for tarps and tents, but technically not "waterproof" in the sense that aquarium glass or something completely impermeable is.
Quest Outfitters also lists their waterproof/breathable fabrics (goretex and such) as water resistant...even though it works fine for rain gear.

I ordered 2nds from Noah Lamport last year sometime. That is cheaper than what I ordered. I just called and talked to someone and asked for sil seconds. The guy I talked to said it was sil and a lot of hikers ordered it. They had a 10 yard min order when I got it.
Also mine were seconds because of a line down the length of the sil where the sil impregnation must not have took. Everything else about it was fine. I have used it on a few projects. Nothing that can't be fixed or can't be left alone. Just something to be aware of.

Thru-Hiker.com (http://www.thru-hiker.com/) is a great resource for raw materials as well.
