I plan on starting here and going north. Could I buy the maps I need here for the northern part? Do they have them all, all the time? I would buy them off the site but it says this.
Most maps will be shipped now. A new New York-New Jersey set is being produced and is expected to ship in May 2007.
That would be bad to have to leave and not have those maps yet.
Yes.
I have been there three times in my travels...I would think you can buy all or just sections depending on what you need...lots of other neat stuf too. The bandana region maps are very cool. Hopefully they dont have any back-order problems...

When the maps come in they'll be in stock at HF. You can pre-order if you want, and have them held for you there. You can pick them up when you're getting your poloroid taken!
On my first thru I picked up maps at HF. It would probily be a good idea to have them held. If there are sections that are missing maps may I suggest the Thru Hikers Manual by Dan Bruce. Most hikers use the manual in substitute for the maps.:)

Are the Companion and Databook included in the "full set" or are those seperate?

Nope. And the State maps & guides are not updated annually as the Companion and Data Book are, either.
