View Full Version : How do I set up this tarp?
I never used a tarp. I was wondering how one person sets up this tarp with hiking poles. I can see how two people could do it. What are the steps you would take. I got it from a Hudson trail store for 10 bucks because it was in a pile of loose stuff. http://www.backpackinglight.com/cgi-bin/backpackinglight/00166.html

hard to explain it, but one person could set that up. There are also other pitches you could use:

I'll take a stab at it.
-Stake your corners where you think they should be.
-Rig one trekking pole.
-Rig the other trekking pole and make your ridgeline taut.
-Readjust your corners.
-Rig your side guyouts.
That's oversimplified but maybe it will help.
