I am getting a female whippet and am wracking my brain for name ideas... has anyone met a dog with an AT-related name? Would "Katahdin" be acceptable for a girl?

You may find non-hiking family/friends calling her "Katie" for short but Katahdin is an awesome name for a poochster. thecaptain 05-25-2007, 15:00 how about leki PJ 2005 05-25-2007, 15:12 Leki... Leki... I like that... bigcranky 05-25-2007, 15:25 I like Katahdin, too. It would be fun to call her Springer, just because it would confuse people about her breed. (People are confused enough by whippets anyway.) But here are a couple ideas: Nantahala -- Nanny, for short. Unicoi Wayah (I like that one) Smoky (depends on her color) Kincora (but it might get shortened to "Kinky") Skyline Blaze Harper Mahoosuc (it just sounds funny) Good luck, have fun, and enjoy the Whippet Frenzies. We also thought about naming him Baxter, Katahdin, and Rufus A. Morgan, but decided on Siler. :) Tabasco 05-26-2007, 09:24 Ran into a guy at Dick's Creek Gap a year or two ago with a black lab named Springer. Our lab is Scout, as Mrs Tabasco denied the use of Springer as the dogs name. |
