Bus schedule to Kent CT, had changed the day before our arrival, had six hour lay over in NYC, setting in front of the church across the street from the Port Authority with the street people. Arrived at Kent CT around 7:00 PM and was granted permission to tent beside the church for the night.

13 Sep 03 - Up early, had breakfast in Kent then went to the Back Country Outfitters to pick up mailed box. We strated out of Kent around 9:30 AM up and over the first of many climbs on the trip. We come down off the mountain and had great walk along the Holostonic River for a few miles arrived at Pine Swamp Lean-to around 6:30 PM for the night.

14 Sep 03 - Started at Pine Swamp Lean-to in the rain, saw several trail runners during the day, crossed the Holostonic at a beautiful water fall, made steep decent down into Limestone Springs Lean-to, it was raining so hard I missed the shelter and continued about a mile down the blue-blaze to a road, back tracked and found the shelter with my partner setting hi and dry.
