I am taking a break from my thru-hik(trail name Middie). And I am rethinking some of my gear. I would like to try my hand at an alcohol stove(to replace jetboil). So long story short I need a pot, lightweight and about 2-3 cups. Cant be spending too much so let me know what you all have. Would like to pay with paypal but will also do money order.

Throw away the strainer thingie (and even the lid of you want to use aluminum foil) and you have an extremely light-weight cookpot for six dollars.
If you want to spend money, the MSR Kettle weighs about the same, and is easier to use (handles, our spout, etc).
But you can't beat a grease pot for cheap and light.

I second Frosty's suggestion, the Kmart pot is a good deal at $6.00. If thats not light enough I can hook you up with a 24 ounce Hieney pot (1 ounce) for $5.00 plus shipping. Got a mini red bull stove that works great with it, too. PM me if interested.
antigravity gear. 3 cup pot and lid. 12 bucks. 3.8 oz i think.

How far have you made it in your thru-hike attempt?

I third Frosty's suggestion. That pot rocks. Take 5 minutes and put a bailer handle on it and start livin' right.

I couldn't find it at walmart either, but I picked one up at KMart. It's in the aisle with the strainers and kitchen accessories. It's a black pot (32 ounce?) with a strainer screen and the lid is shiny aluminum and says GREASE in big letters stamped on the lid. It goes for $6.99. Good luck.
walmart does not sell it anymore

Made it to troutdale/dalevill at about 1.5 months. I am going to be skipping the rest of virginia so I can meet back up with some people. And I will be walking home from school next summer, I go to Radford and its not to far from where I left off.
