The ATC biennial conference in Mahwah, NJ starts July 13 i.e. less than a month. Any WBers out there planning to attend? For you section hikers, the week of organized hikes provides an excellent way to complete "missing pieces" of the Trail in NJ & NY.
On Monday the 16th, I'm going to Campmor (10 miles south) and will shuttle anyone who wants to go.

There are some cool things going on in the evening so I'll probably go after the first morning workshop ends at 10 AM. Monday is the only day for me because I'm doing hikes and/or excursions the rest of the week.
And keep in mind that Campmor is closed on Sundays thanks to Paramus blue laws.
I'll look for you Frosty.
Just back from Jersey where I saw Cookerhiker, Frosty, Deb W, Laurie Potteiger and many more of the dedicated staff members at ATC. Although I didn't go on any hikes, I had a good time.
The next ATC Biennial will be hosted by the Green Mountain Club in Vermont in July 2009.

Still here at the Conference. Frosty left yesterday. I met DebW for the first time today.
Lots of good hikes here but hot temps in the afternoon.

Have fun Cookerhiker. Give us a report when you get home. And don't try to challenge DebW to any trail hiking contest.
We are actively planning the next conference at Castleton Vermont in 2009. If anyone has thoughts and ideas, PM me.

I vote for somewhere down south some year soon. Like GA or NC south!

Wook, my understanding is that the conference locale is rotated between South, mid-Atlantic, and Northeast. Since the last conference in 2005 (remember, they're every 2 years) was in Johnson City and this one's in NJ, the Northeast gets its turn in 2009. So the 2011 Conference is likely in the South. Also as you're probably aware, the new ATC Board Chairman is Bob Almond from Georgia so you can well assume that 2011 will occur in the South.

2011 conference will be in Southwestern Virginia.

Do you know where Peaks?

The site for the ATC 2011 conference has not been selected yet. About all I know is that the ATC maintaining clubs in SW Virginia are the host clubs.
One of their first tasks is site selection. Last time it was in SW Virginia, it was at Radford.
