Hello folks,

Anybody know how water is at Cosby knob, Tri courner, Pecks and Icewater shelters. I planned to do this hike in September but found I have a few days in the next following weeks, Any help with water sources in this route would be appreciated. Thanks to all.

Cosby Knob and Pecks should be fine. Icewater is always a reliable water source..atleast when I've been up there (atleast 15 times in various seasons). Couldn't say whether Tri corner is ok, but I;m sure it is still flowing. You can call the park service and they should be able to tell you. Most of the shelters have "reliable, perennial" water sources nearby.

When I was up there last month, the water flow at Double Springs (which I have always considered to be reliable) was at about 3 liters an hour.

The best thing you can do is call the park and ask. It is as dry here as I have ever seen it. We have had a couple good rains recently, but it's going to take a lot more before things get back to normal.

There is a guy that in Cosby that may know more info. He is a shuttle driver and is on trail frequently and may know more info than anyone. I would say either call Curtis at Standing Bear and ask him or PM me and Ill give you the number of someone in Cosby that may have more info on the trail.

I've been on the AT in that part of the park the past two weeks..
Davenport and Cosby area...although this week I came up Low Gap and turned north on AT, missing Cosby...anyway if it helps...it poured rain on me both hikes and we've been getting afternoon showers regularly.
