Some of us are getting together at Fletcher's Pizza in Donnelson next Thursday, July 26 around 6pm. Most of us so far are Hammock Hanging Mafia from over at Hammockforums.net, but all from here are welcome, too.

If you need directions pm either me or Ewker or neo.

For shame! I leave town, and y'all plan an outing! :)

I'm sitting here in Waynesboro, VA tonight at the Quality Inn with Grass and Stitch. Grass and I hit the AT in the morning to hike through the Shenandoah National Park the next 6 or 7 days. Stitch is our support vehicle operator.

I'll catch y'all at the next Nashville WhiteBlaze outing, though.

My wife and I just accepted a position as the Caretakers of a 300 acre botanical garden in Chattanooga, TN. There are 12 miles of trails on the property, and those trails connect to perhaps another 50 miles of National Park Service Trails, as this place is completely surrounded by NPS lands.

I'd like to host a WB get together here sometime in the fall. We could hike and enjoy the beauty of this area. Then grab a nibble at a nearby eatery. There's a great little burrito joint 10 minutes from here. The place is right off of the interstate (I-24).

Send me a PM if you think this is a nice idea for a WB get together. Here's a link to my new "property": http://www.reflectionriding.org/

PS: I haven't changed jobs. Just where I hang my hat. :sun

Make it a weekend, and I'll most likely be there.

From what I can tell, the way to have a hiker get together is to pick a date and announce it. Here, in the summer, weekends are difficult to get folks together because everyone leaves Nashville to go, ah, hiking... (shadowmoss waves at Rain*Man). So, I picked a weeknight. In a cool place like that that folks would actually come to go hike, I'd think anything is fair game.

Great idea as long as it doesn't conflict with The Gathering. I'll bet early November is beautiful in SE Tennessee.--Kinnickinic

Just an update... I'm now sitting at a Hilton in Chattanooga! LOL

Grass and I finished up the AT through the Shenandoah National Park yesterday afternoon. We drove back to Nashville to drop off Grass, then Stitch and I had to drive immediately to Chattanooga for a meeting Stitch is in this afternoon. So, here I sit, alone, reflecting on a most wonderful week of hiking... and seeing about a dozen bears! wooo wooo I'll be posting photos and a trip report... sooner or later.

How was the dinner, without ME???
