There's a big difference in how different sized GG packs fit. The GG vapor trail is not comfortable at 20+ pounds. Consider the GG Nimbus Ozone instead.

I find the VT comfortable past 20 lbs. , but would not push it to 30lbs. unless absolutely necessary. 25 has always felt great to me in this pack and personally would never go over 27.

The VT was excellent for me up to just over 30 pounds. Very nice fit.

I have had similar experience with the Vapor Trail. I love it- I won't part with it.
At my age, I find ANY pack over 30 pounds uncomfortable!

You know, my Vapor Trail has been comfortable with loads up to about 30 lbs, but I don't think alexboquist was asking for advice on what kind of loads this pack carries, or whether we recommend them or not, was he? :-?

You be wrong with that comment.
I love my Vapor Trail to much to part with it it carries up to 30 great. It is the the best pack I have ever owned thought I am not sure about how I feel about the pockets but they work well enough. If ?I see one for a good deal I will send it your way.

I know this is getting way off topic for a WTB post, but if you make a cut in the pocket fabric underneath the compression strap, so the strap can tighten and you still have access to the pocket...kind of hard to describe...it's possible to utilize both the pocket and the strap.

I sold a just like new Nimbus Ozone on eBay a couple of weeks ago for $78.--just had to rub it in.
Neatly, the buyer lives in my state to and was planning to use it for the first time on the section of the Ozark Trail that I help maintain, as soon as the weather cools. How cool is that?
