im under the impresion that the entire trail is covered over 3 bandanas called mapdannas if any one has a quality used set id really like to buy them, let me know if you can help.

I think there were four mapdanas in 05... They are relatively cheap.. plus they get updated I think.. they have phone numbers and stuff like that..

There are currently four in the set and they sell for about $13 per 'dana at Campmor. Not sure I'd want a used set :eek: unless the person had cancelled their hike for some reason.

My husband is currenlty hiking with his mapdanas as his only source of trail info, he is midway through the 4th and final map...and yea if they are used you don't want them. They are really funky after being used...

cant they be washed? if its just coz theyve been soaked in sweat an used to wash with i can handle that ill just wash them real good, if there all faded an crappy then i dont want them. i know where to get them from i just cant afford the $60.00 for the set (incl s&h)They can be washed many times and the hiker funk will remain. They get used for a lot more than just mopping sweat out there. Most use them as washcloth, towel, to wipe heaven-only-knows-what off equipment, to clean clogged jets on stoves and such. They will never, ever come clean without using some process that will fade them badly.

FD is not joking. I can't use my foodbag from the georgia section due to hiker funk. Hiker funk is like a mix b/t sweat and mildew. lol WHEW it smells. I miss it. :(
