There was an A.T. article in the Reading Eagle recently:
The Appalachian Trail: No one walks alone (http://www.readingeagle.com/article.aspx?id=53078)
On most summer weekends, Joel Urbine of Downingtown, Chester County, comes to Port Clinton to camp. He sets up in a small grove across from the hiking pavilion and waits for thru-hikers.
Urbine, who goes by his trail name Bag of Tricks, is there to give thru-hikers advice and a ride into town.

Bag O' Tricks (http://www.whiteblaze.net/forum/vbg/showimage.php?i=10269&catid=member&imageuser=271) is a kind person, a good friend to all, and is an outstanding representative of the Appalachian Trail Community.
He is loved by many people. :sun
He has many Earl stories :D
He would give you the shirt off his back.
He and Jack never argue.
one of the better articles I've read - nice knowing some of the people mentioned too
In Brooklyn we'd call BOT "A standup guy""!

Matt...you are Batty :D
This is the article Persistent mentioned in her trailjournals--she said the reporter kept asking her and the others very profound questions and they kept coming up with non-profound answers. I guess Young Eagle's "I'll just see where my feet take me" was the most poetic answer, so the reporter had to use it :)

I met Bag O' Tricks at the Port Clinton pavilion. He gave me a ride to Cabelas and would not accept any money but just asked that I return the favor to another hiker. The world needs more people like BOT. I still owe that favor which I hope to repay in October while section hiking northern PA.
